“Excuse me…I have received a….oh no one cares anymore…”

Now I know I’m just another “Internet Mark behind a computer”, but I mean let’s be honest, compared to half of the crap you read online, I hope at least this will keep you entertained. I’m not here to change opinions or views, just hear to state my feelings. Now enjoy.
How did Monday Night RAW go from the glory days of Stone Cold vs. Vince McMahon, to Edge, elbow dropping a computer? Now mind you, the anonymous general manager was an interesting way to fill the void between a real general manager and pointless “guest hosts”. But, that was in July, it is now almost October, and all the general manager has done is become an extra character the heels can draw cheap heat off of. Has the creative team really lost the ability to legitimately build heels? And it is not even nobodies they are using! Chris Jericho and Edge, two former 9 time world champions, are stuck battling a computer, rather than fighting for the WWE Championship or fighting off the Nexus.
Michael Cole has now become a heel? Oh boy. Instead of being an annoying face commentator, he has become a…well he hasn’t really changed besides the fact that he now cheers for the heels. And it isn’t even for every heel. He refers to Rhodes/McIntyre’s use of an exposed turnbuckle as cheating, but when Miz cheats, it is “bending the rules” at worst. He should calm himself down, and do what he does best, say the word “Vintage”, attempt to be Jim Ross, and read the e-mails. He is a good commentator yes, but someone please shut him up before I permanently mute my TV.
Daniel Bryan has become the US Champion, FINALLY the WWE gives him the respect he deserves. The RAW roster is filling up with young and talented wrestlers, but with the crowded main event scene, most of them are shuffled to the background. At Hell in a Cell though, we will see Daniel Bryan, The Miz, and John Morrison face off for the US Championship, which should steal the show if booked correctly. Speaking of Miz, Mr. Money in the Bank has been on a real role, as he seems to being formed in to the future of the WWE. The Miz is one of the most charismatic wrestlers the WWE has, and is a solid in ring performer as well. Now the only question that remains, is when The Awesome One will cash in his title shot, and against whom.
On the other side of the WWE Universe, Smackdown is on the move to SyFy this Friday. With new faces emerging such as Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes, and Drew McIntyre, the roster seems to produce better wrestling than RAW, but the storylines do not reflect it. The Big Show/CM Punk angle has been drawn out so far, and really didn’t help either superstar. Because of it, the Straight Edge Society disbanded, taking Punk from a stalling group leader, to a stalling individual. As for Big Show, it put him over as a face who will never go anywhere. They will not push him towards the Intercontinental title, and he is not going to be part of the World Title picture.
Christian has been taken out with an injury and Matt Hardy seems to be in turmoil with WWE Management, which leaves the WWE missing two of their most consistent midcard faces. This now leaves the question as to who will step up. Kaval has dropped his first two Smackdown matches since winning NXT season 2, even losing to Chavo Guerrero. With Kofi Kingston still stuck in a dying feud with Ziggler over the Intercontinental Championship, it pretty much leaves MVP as the only true midcard face on Smackdown, but is currently feuding with Jack Swagger. Looks like Alberto Del Rio may be squashing nobodies until they bring back Rey Mysterio or sort out this Matt Hardy situation.
All we can do now is see how everything plays out on the season premiere of Smackdown, which has turned in to a final promotional spot for the Cena/Barrett match on Sunday.
Speaking of Sunday, Hell in a Cell is this Sunday, and the lineup has really been focused around the Cena/Barrett match, but there are two other main events that could have big importance to the future of the WWE. Randy Orton defends the WWE Championship against the former champion Sheamus. This match marks Orton’s 3rd trip inside the Hell in the Cell, while it is only Sheamus’ first. Now this is where this match could get good. Consider the fact the Randy Orton’s punt just took Jericho away on a stretcher. If Orton is victorious, then it could lead to an entertaing feud with Jericho, leading RAW through the end of the year (pending Jericho isn’t moved to Smackdown). OR, pending a Cena loss, he whoever the champion is after the PPV could feud with Nexus (see more below).
The World Heavyweight Championship comes to a head as a 13 year rivalry comes full circle as The Undertaker and Kane meet once more. In October 1997, Kane debuted in the WWE during a Hell in a Cell match. Now the two meet again, 13 years later, inside the Hell in the Cell. However over the past thirteen years the rivalry has taken multiple twists and turns with every rebirth of the feud. In what possibly may be the final chapter, Kane had seemingly taken The Undertaker’s powers, leaving him a shell of the Phenom. But with the reappearance of Paul Bearer (who Taker left in a concrete crypt 6 years ago, explain that one WWE) and the urn, The Undertaker seems to have regained his powers as he battles the “Devil’s Favorite Demon”, one more time for the World Heavyweight Championship. Will The Undertaker be able to recapture the World Heavyweight Championship, or will Kane lay Taker to rest for good? And where does The Undertaker go from here? Will this truly mark the beginning of the end for The Undertaker’s career?
And the main event all centers around The Nexus. An angle which had so much hype in its beginning, but not has slowly stalled. Losing at Summerslam did not help the group at all. The loss to “Super-Cena” and the 6 Avengers, killed the group’s momentum, and since then the group has yet to recover. Losing Darren Young and Skip Sheffield has also hurt the power Nexus used to have, making the 5 man group a more realistic obstacle to take down than the 7 man freight train. With the stipulation in place, where if Cena loses he joins Nexus, and if Cena wins Nexus disbands, this is the do-or-die point for Nexus. John Cena has been in one Hell in a Cell Match in the past while Wade Barrett has not. The question that remains is what happens next? Well this is how I book the main event.
Barrett wins. That’s right, Wade Barrett defeats “Super-Cena” and forces him to join Nexus. That way it leaves the WWE three directions to go:
1) Cena becomes reluctant and attempts to fight his way out of Nexus. Basic storyline, but it can keep Nexus alive for a bit longer.
2) Barrett uses Cena as a workhorse, using him to take out wrestlers and eventually help propel Barrett in to the WWE Title scene. This way, Randy Orton can have a new feud with Nexus/Cena, and keep both Orton and Cena around the main even scene. Also, this is a way for the WWE to test the waters of Cena being heel, without officially declaring him as a heel. If the angle starts to develop ratings that they are unhappy with, they can also change to number 1 and have Cena fight his way out.
3) Cena accepts his new position and turns full-fledge heel. This allows a major opening for new faces to fight off Nexus. Not only Randy Orton, but guys such as John Morrision, Daniel Bryan, and R-Truth (see his promo with Cena on RAW…something seems up…). And who knows, with the top face position open, and RAW in turmoil, they may need to turn to a certain superstar to fight off Cena and the Nexus. Game On.
But in all seriousness, Cena will probably win this match, forcing all Nexus members excluding Barrett to Smackdown, Superstars, or the permanent midcard. Which again proves, “Super-Cena” > All.
